Casa De Oro Branch Library

The Casa De Oro Branch Library project, located at 9610 Campo Road in Spring Valley, CA, represents a significant community enhancement by the County of San Diego's Department of General Services. Designed by COAR Design Group, the new single-story library will span approximately 14,000 square feet and feature Type VB construction with multiple occupancies, including Assembly (A), Business (B), Mercantile (M), and Storage (S). Replacing an existing single-story restaurant and a portion of the current parking lot, the project will integrate landscape features, utilities, and street improvements to provide a modern and accessible facility. With a maximum height of 21 feet 6 inches, the library is designed to meet the 2022 California Building Code, offering a contemporary space tailored to community needs.

Scheduled to break ground in winter 2025, with completion anticipated in 2026, the new Casa De Oro Library will include a 2,000-square-foot community room with after-hours access for events, high-speed internet and Wi-Fi, study rooms, a teen area, a children’s section with early-literacy equipment, and a patio space. Additionally, the library will house public computers, laptops for check-out, and a Friends of the Library Bookstore. EC Constructors Inc. will oversee the design-build process, ensuring the project delivers a welcoming and multifunctional environment to serve as a hub for education, creativity, and connection in Spring Valley.
