The Scripps Encinitas Acute Care Center, designed by Taylor Design and developed by Scripps Health, represents a transformative addition to the existing campus. This three-story, 224,000-square-foot acute care building is being constructed in phases to replace outdated structures while maintaining the hospital’s operational integrity. The project involves the decommissioning and demolition of six existing buildings, followed by the phased construction of 92,000 square feet of new space and 90,854 square feet of rebuilt hospital facilities. To support the expanded operations, the project includes an enlarged central energy plant, a new loading dock, and comprehensive landscaping and hardscape improvements.
Built to Type-IA construction standards with a height of 59 feet, the building is designed for I-1 occupancy, emphasizing its focus on patient care and safety. The acute care center totals 226,007 square feet and incorporates cutting-edge medical facilities tailored to modern healthcare needs. By seamlessly integrating new construction with existing campus infrastructure, the Scripps Encinitas Acute Care Center underscores Scripps Health's dedication to delivering state-of-the-art healthcare to the community while enhancing the campus's functionality and aesthetics.
