SUU Music Center

The Southern Utah University Music Center is a landmark development on campus, offering 32,850 square feet of state-of-the-art facilities dedicated to music education and performance. Designed by Method Studio and constructed by Layton Construction, this two-story building with a catwalk stands 45 feet tall and exemplifies modern architectural excellence. Built to TYPE-IIB construction standards and adhering to the 2021 International Building Code with Utah-specific amendments, the center accommodates a mix of A-1, B, and S occupancies. At its core, the facility features a concert hall and recital hall, complemented by specialized spaces such as an instrumental ensemble room, percussion suite, and a recording suite with advanced music production capabilities. Piano and digital-audio-workstation labs further support a comprehensive curriculum for aspiring musicians.

Beyond its performance and instructional spaces, the Music Center includes a variety of resources to enhance both student and faculty experiences. Practice rooms, classrooms, faculty studios, and administrative offices are seamlessly integrated to create a hub for musical creativity and academic achievement. Developed by the State of Utah Department of Administrative Services, this facility reflects a commitment to fostering the arts within higher education. With its thoughtful design and cutting-edge amenities, the Southern Utah University Music Center solidifies its role as a cornerstone for the university’s music program and a venue for inspiring future generations of musicians.
